Things are great! - December 16, 2011
Saying Hi to the folks out there!
Having a blast with my two children and my full schedule doing voice overs, writing music, producing CDs, events and shows, performing for private functions and, of course, my SUNDAY NIGHTS at Manitou Station (details on Schedule Page).
Finished producing a 30-minute television Christmas Special and am currently shopping it around to stations to team up with some local talent and make a fun splash on TV!
Looking forward to the new year and can't wait to hear from you - let me know how you are by emailing me and joining my update list. Place your email in the field on this screen and join up!
Many exciting things to come...

Blow It for BIX PIX - January 27, 2011
This is the new promotion reel for Bix Pix Entertainment 2011.
-Stop-Motion Animation-
This is the company that did all the stop-motion stuff for NBC's Community this past Christmas season and has had fun spots on Saturday Night Live and many other super cool things!
They asked me to write new lyrics to my motor-mouthed "Blow It" for stop-motion specifics and this is what we came up with!
OfficeMax Voice Over - January 12, 2011
Hey! Here's some new voiceover work I've recently completed with OfficeMax. Super cool.
A little more NBC... - November 26, 2010
Some more fun has arrived in the form of NBC's "The Sing Off" during their second season. You just might hear me singing or you just might hear music that I have written playing a supporting role to the contestants and their journeys, hardships and successes.
It was great fun to be part of the team collaborating with Sony and NBC!
Tune in this December...
Papa Murphy's radio commercial - March 20, 2010
Recorded a national radio commercial (speaking) for Papa Murphy's the other day. So, if you happen to hear the commercial about Fran, the frantic mom driving home from work, that's me! I'm Fran in the commercials as well as the announcer in some of them - 'Handmade fresh, Homebaked great!"
On the Road Again... - March 15, 2010
Out and about - doin' what we do best.
Having a blast with the crew on the Girl Singers tour. Pretty easy when the crew consists of my brother(drums), my sister(vox), my mother(vox), my aunt(vox), and the piano player, the bass player, and the crazy fun tech guy.
Playing a bunch in the plains and then we go back home at the end of March. I'm home for a few days, and then I head out to New York to play the Metropolitan Room on Thu Apr 8th and Carnegie Hall Fri Apr 9th. My good friend, Lynn Loosier is the reigning champion of The Apollo Theater's competition and she told me that she plans on having me sing at the Apollo on Wed Apr 7th, but we shall see.... T'would be crazed.
Anyhow, the schedule of the whens and the wheres is on my Schedule Page. Feel free to drop me a line and be sure to pop over to a show if I'm in your area!!!!

Interview - February 17, 2010
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up on the road with my family singing in resorts, lounges, casinos, theme parks, etc. We had a home base near Minneapolis/St. Paul and another out by Atlantic City where my grandmother lived. After getting off of the road around age 13, I ended up completing high school and college in Minneapolis where I still reside with my husband and two children.
Q: What made you realize that music was your path?
A: Music is the family trade. Since birth, all of the children were steeped in show business and it only feels natural for it to be at least part of my path, if not my entire focus.
Q: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
A: I create quite a few different types, depending on the need. The most consistent quality in the music I create is just that. Quality. I pride myself on being versatile and able to jump in, figure it all out and perform/create accordingly.
Q: Who are your biggest musical influences?
A: My family, of course, but besides that, Peggy Lee, 90's hip-hop and R&B, 40's vocal pop, Mel Torme and Nat King Cole.
Q: What makes your music unique?
A: I like the blend of the old showbiz sensibility mixed with today's flavor and mentality. Good lyrics, catchy hooks, old-time sound, today's need for a great voice.
Q: Has there been one particular moment in your musical career that you're most proud of?
A: Jumping out to New York to do a solo show. I had grown up as the daughter, the sidekick, the bonus, the chick singer in a band of boys, etc. I decided to do my very first solo show all the way out in NYC. It was a big dive into doing things on my own. It went very well and was received as such in the Village Voice that year. Loved it. Also, my After Noon album as my first all-original venture. I'm particularly proud of that.
Q: What's next for you?
A: Trying to get my music to a larger audience while still churning out the music that's needed here in town to stay alive. Jingles and weddings and voice overs and commercials make the cash, but going back on the road with my family promoting an album would be right up my alley and is certainly where I'm most at home.
Playing - January 19, 2010
I'm just playing a bunch and rehearsing a bunch for this crazy Carnegie Hall thing in April. Tough music, but it's nice to be seriously challenged musically. I think I just said I'm musically challenged.... Well, you know what I mean....
It's another girl! - July 9, 2009
Spring 2009 Update - May 7, 2009
First off, I made it past the Semi-Finals and am on to the Finale next weekend for a slick $10,000. If you're too new to the newsletter to know what I'm talking about, there is a pretty funny singing contest I'm in that has been going on for quite a few weeks and quite a few rounds. Now, I've made it to the Finale, May 16th, where 20 finalists sing and one lucky stiff walks away with 10 grand. Yipes.
If you're a facebook person, you can see how my friend, Sandi, chronicled the events thus far by following this link: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/album.php?aid=16340&id=1598884454&ref=nf ______
Secondly, in the news, we are 'scheduled' to have this baby the last week of June. Thursday, June 25th, to be exact. So we are looking forward to meeting our new baby girl!
_____
Lastly, there has been a cancellation of the Hell's Kitchen show later this month. I hope to be able to make my way back in there later this year...
_____
Thanks for your support, and, if you're interested in a goofy time, come down to cheer me on at the Medina Ballroom Saturday, May 16th, at 7pm for the Finale of the $10,000 contest! Tickets are $10.00 and more details are available at https://medinaentertainment.com/medina/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=56&category_id=1&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=145

We are through recording... CD Release Party July 3rd at The Dakota! - June 11, 2008
We recorded it all in one week and are in the process of making some
final decisions and mixing. It is a great album full of brand new
original tunes that give you that perfect front-porch-swinging,
nothing-to-do, summer afternoon, easy, lazy type of feeling. Can't
wait for you to hear it.
And here is where you can!

Coming up... - October 19, 2007
So much has been happening in the household here. Rowan turned 1 and just started walking this past weekend, Aaron (my husband) is back teaching for the school year and my shows and projects have been almost overwhelming. I've been happy, of course, to get the calls!!
Lately, voice over work has been coming my way and all sorts of special projects for events, shows, parties, and albums. It's been a fun fall so far!
Coming up, DJ Spur and I will be working toward some more performances of our original House Music with the potential for an entire album release in 2008. You can hear some of our stuff at http://www.myspace.com/djspur Also, more immediately, I'll be appearing with some family members in another performance of The Girl Singers Of The Hit Parade
Being a Mommy - February 11, 2007
As the public shows roll in, I'll be letting you know about them - and if you're not on the e-mailing list, click and join at the top of the page - I'll send you updates on what's going on and where I'm playing.
Can't wait to get back out and have some more fun!! See you soon.

It's a...... - August 26, 2006
Rowan (row-ANN) Elizabeth was born Friday, August 18th, 2006 at 7:18AM, 21 and 1/2 inches long and weighing in at 10 lbs, 5 and 1/4 oz! Oh Baby!!!
She's lovingly named after one of our grandmothers who will be 96 this year - so cool.
Check out the baby pics in the Photo Gallery!
Summertime - May 31, 2006
Midwestern heat and humidity with a baby in my tummy is a challenge... whew... 10 more weeks or so to go. Can't wait to meet the little thing. The Girl Singers show is coming up and then I'll be taking some time off to sit in some air-conditioned room with my feet up and await the arrival of the rambunctious one. I'll check in once the little one arrives. Talk to you then. Happy Summertime!
~Happy Springtime~ - April 3, 2006
My husband and I just got a house and we move this Saturday... we started looking after we found out that we were expecting a little one! Come August, we'll be parents! It's kicking around in there as I'm typing. Weird.
I had a blast singing the National Anthem for the Timberwolves Game yesterday! They set us up with some nice tickets and, what do you know, we won!
Coming up in April are a ton of private events with just one show open to the public.
On April 15th, I'll be at the Twisted Grille in Hudson, WI with Mark Asche on keys.
A mellow duo, the two of us. Might be just what you need to relax on potentially one of the most stressful days of the year... I suppose TaxDay has been moved to the 17th this year, so grab some wine before the crazy Monday.
See the Schedule Page for more info...
